Supporting Well-Being and Economic Mobility in the Chicagoland Region

Our Values

  • Empathy and Respect. We put the worth and dignity of all individuals at the center of our work.

  • Trust and Partnership. We can only do this work in true collaboration; we listen to our partners and trust them to lead.

  • Reflection and Excellence. We take informed risks in service of impact and are committed to continuous learning.

Our Core Beliefs

  • All individuals deserve equal access to opportunity.

  • We have a duty to use our resources to even the playing field and meet the needs of the least of our brethren.

  • We all have something to contribute.

  • By investing in individuals and families today, future generations will lead more fulfilling lives.

Expanding access to high-quality education and support services so under-resourced and under-represented students can develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals.

Health

Enhancing the availability and accessibility of high-quality, culturally competent mental and physical healthcare, with a focus on underserved communities, so all people can live happy and healthy lives.

Housing

Providing transitional shelter and building better options for safe and affordable rental and home-ownership opportunities, especially for people who’ve been historically denied access, to create more vibrant and inclusive communities.

Immigrant Justice

Galvanizing a world that treats immigrants with dignity and empowers them to contribute, enriching all of society.

Lake County

Fostering inclusive and engaged communities, making Lake County a great place for individuals and families.

Philosophy

“I always thought you should fight injustice wherever you found it—for as long as you found it.”
